An Etsy Store?

Greetings, mini friends!  Not much to report this time.  I have been seriously considering an Etsy store, so have been playing around with ideas on stocking it.

Jeweled handbags.  I have made several more in 1:24 and want to make a couple more in 1:12.

Dressed Mannequins.  I have painted a new umbrella to go with the walking suit.  This one is brown and gold instead of black and silver.  (Not sure what the odd white spots are, as they don't show up in real life.)

And I made accessories for the mid-century couture *cough*Chanel*cough* suit that I made a while ago.

I love how the little brooch turned out.  It is (you guessed it) fingernail art.   Ditto with the belt buckle below.  If women ever stop sticking pictures, jewels and other little items onto their fingernails, my stash will suffer greatly.

This is a little 50's outfit with poodle skirt.  I need to make some saddle shoes to go with it, and maybe stick a little pink bow on the poodle.  I'd also like to make a cardigan for it, and I have a lovely black jersey swatch from Mood, but I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off.  Can you tell I've been in a clothes making mood lately?  I have a couple more ideas for outfits I'd like to make.  We'll see how they go.

Gift baskets.  Now that I've figured out how to make 1:24 scale mugs, I've made one into a "I San Francisco" mug to round out my half-scale San Francisco gift basket.  Hmmm.  The basket itself seems kind of plain next to my Christmas baskets.  I'll have to come up with a way to add a little pizzazz.  Suggestions welcome.

I am also nearly done making a new 1:24 green Christmas basket to replace the one Shannon won, so I will have all four types available.

I'm a little nervous about getting started, and there is a lot to do to get set up, so it may take a while.  Stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a Happy Halloween and a wonderful weekend!

each item you've constructed is SUPERB! ❤️
The Jewelled handbags are Utterly Charming (and I see one that I want to order, right now!) :D
Your clothing is Amazing and even Chanel herself would take her hat off to you on the way that you've captured not only the style of her signature suit, but her distinct details as well! BRAVO!
I love the poodle skirt and I immediately pictured Olivia Newton John wearing it, and Ooo Ooo Ooo Definitely make some saddle shoes to go with it!
And your Gibson Girl suit with hat and umbrella is perfectly Lovely! Your work is sooooo clean and precise Deborah - I can't help but LOVE it all!

    1. Thank you so much! The clothes are certainly fun to make, though the shoes somewhat less so because they are a bit fiddly. (I did make the saddle shoes over the weekend.)

  3. I love everything! I'm especially a fan of the dressed mannequins. How ever did you manage to make the shoes? I found some 1/24 porcelain mannequins at Dragonfly that you might like.http://www.dragonflyintl.com/shop/contents/en-us/d108.html

    1. The shoes are made from paper and thin vinyl (the kind you can use in your Silhouette or Cricut), and they are quit fiddly. It took three or four tries to get the little pumps right, but I was finally happy with them. Right now, I've cornered the market on the mannequins from Michael's, but I like the Dragonfly mannequin. I can just see it in a 1930's evening gown . . . .

  4. All your ideas are beautiful. I especially like the clothing line. I was there for the poodle skirts. Some variations are a princess phone in place of the poodle, and it was trendy to pin a big silk flower on the blouse. When I go to San Francisco, I like to stop at Ghirardelli for chocolate. I wish you success!

    1. Thanks, Sherrill. Although you can't see it in the picture, I have a jar of Ghirardelli chocolate sauce in the basket. On the blouse, I have been trying to find pictures of those bit silk flowers. I think it would be a fun detail to add.

  5. I am so excited for you as you prepare for your new venture! Your little jeweled handbags are absolutely precious, and those mannequin outfits are outstanding! The gift baskets are going to be such a hit, too, and I predict you're going to sell out of the first sets of everything quickly! What a fun store you are making and I'll be one of the first in line to shop!

    1. Thank you! Still a lot to do (photographing, weighing, measuring) but I think it will be worth it. And this way, I can keep making minis without (I hope) running out of space. 😊

  6. Everything is lovely and I am sure you will sell well. I for one love the little bags. Setting up an Etsy store (or maintaining it for that matter) is a bit of a pain but pretty easy. Have a great weekend!

  7. I might be a bit biased, but the purses absolutely amaze me. Remembering the full sized ones from the 60s, these are mirror images. I hope the store opens and I wish you well in your endeavor.

  8. Thanks, Don! I am still working toward it, but real life keeps getting in the way.

  9. Please let me know when you open. I think I need one of those purses. Also, Etsy is pretty inexpensive, so I say just go for it.
