A Christmas Giveaway!

To show my appreciation for all the folks who have been reading and following my blog, I'm doing a Christmas giveaway!  (O.K.  I know it's October, but Joann is already stocking Christmas items.😊)  You've seen the Christmas gift baskets I've been working on.  I'm offering one of them to a randomly-selected reader who posts in the comments that s/he would like to participate, including which basket s/he is interested in.  More info below.

As a reminder of what each contains (and a new addition, thanks to a suggestion from Samantha):

Chocolates (one box per basket):

The chocolates are not removable from their boxes, although the lids are removable.

Gingerbread men (1 box/4 gingerbread men per basket):

The gingerbread men are removable.

Wine or brandy (1 bottle per basket, brandy in the half-scale green basket only):

Coffee (one bag per basket):

Gourmet Hot Cocoa Mix (1 jar per basket):

Christmas Mug (1 mug per basket):

Candy cane (one per basket):

Ornament (one per basket):

For the red basket, A Christmas Carol:

These are not accordion-printed pages; they are printed double-sided. Both books contain the same complete synopsis of the story.  The dimensions of the 1:12 scale book are ¾" x ½" x 5/32" (20mm x 14mm x 4.5mm); the dimensions of the 1:24 scale book are 3/8" x ¼" x 1/8" (10mm x 7mm x 3mm).

For the green basket, The Night Before Christmas:

Again, these are printed double-sided. Both books contain the full text of the poem.  The dimensions of the 1:12 scale book are 15/16" x 7/8" x 1/8" (24mm x 22mm x 3mm); the dimensions of the 1:24 scale book are 1/2" x 7/16" x 1/8" (13mm x 11mm x 3mm).

To enter, just post a comment and tell me which size (1:12 or 1:24) you would like, and whether you would like the red basket with A Christmas Carol or the green basket with The Night Before Christmas.  Your choice will not affect your chances in the drawing.  I will be picking a winner on October 15, 2019, at noon Pacific Daylight Time, so please get your entries in by 10:00 a.m. PDT on October 15.

Good luck!               .

  1. Hi Deborah. How kind of you! I would love the 1:24 green basket, if I was lucky enough to win. I couldn’t pass up that copy of ‘Twas the night before Christmas’! Of course I am in Australia, so if you don’t want to ship internationally, I really don’t mind if you exclude my entry. Xx

    1. Not a problem. You're in. I know I have some readers in other countries, and that's fine. Besides, you're another half scale person! 😊

  2. Oh my! How can I resist a chance at such an adorable Christmas basket? My preference is the 1:12 size and I just can’t make up my mind as to which color 🤔. You can surprise me.

  5. Decisions Decisions!!!! but I think that IF I were so blessed as to win my pick, it would have to be the 1:12 Dickens Book Basket just because the Alastair Sim movie version has been a MUST WATCH Christmas Tradition since I was a teenager....
and that a whole lot of A Christmas Carol! ;)

  6. Oh they're just gorgeous! I love all of them so either 1:12 basket would be lovely, though I could use 1:24 baskets in my lanterns so I'm not picky at all.

I really cannot get over all the gorgeous tiny little details of you baskets.

    1. You're in. But if you win, you'll have to decide, because I don't have a tour-sided coin. 😄

  8. Oh Deb each of the books and all the basket loot is just wonderful! But, the half scale stuff is just a marvel to me, as I believe there is extra skill and precision required to get half as tiny things to be just as marvelous! So, I would love to be so lucky to see a half scale basket in person and all it tiny contents. A Christmas Carol is one of my all time favorite books, too, because I believe that Ebenezer Scrooge had a real life Near Death Experience in order to help him see the truth and save his very soul. To be so aware of this phenomenon prior to 1975 and the publication of Raymond Moody's Life After Life book, I am convinced that Charles Dickens either had one himself or knew someone closely who did. I am determined to complete a half scale project one day (when my queue is a little less full), and until then I can display this amazing creation in my half scale chocolatier shop! Long winded, I know, but I don't get out much, lol! :O)

  10. I love reading your blog! I have made half scale Parsons chairs because of you. 1:24 either color would be amazing. I have tried double sided printing, but it never comes out quite right.

    1. Thank you! I don't know how I missed this comment before today. It's nice to know I inspired someone. You are in! I agree--double-sided printing is tricky. It took a while to come up with a template that worked, and still sometimes I have to tweak it a bit. 😊
